Simone Clarke FDI, CDE, DIP Cecchetti
Trained at the Royal Ballet School from age 11 to 18. Joined Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet age 18 in 1988, this company relocated to Birmingham in 1990 becoming The Birmingham Royal Ballet. Simone was promoted to Soloist in 1992 and First Soloist in 1995, having danced many Principal and Soloist roles. In 1998, Simone joined the English National Ballet, where she was promoted to Principal Dancer.
Simone has performed all over the world and choreographed many works for professionals and children. She has made several television appearances including Peter Wrights “Coppelia” and “The Nutcracker”, The Generation Game, Ballet Hell, Blue Peter and the lead Ballerina in Men in Tights. Recently created an award winning short film called “Blurr”.
Simone has worked with numerous dance schools in this country and abroad in order to pass on her knowledge of Classical Ballet to the next generation. Simone opened the Yorkshire Ballet Academy in 2008 gaining an excellent reputation for her tuition.
Simone is now training to become a Cecchetti examiner.
