Tania Fairbairn

B.Phil (Hons), Dip.RBS (TTC), ARAD, AISTD (CB).
Tania trained at the Arts Educational School, Tring and The Royal Ballet School’s Teachers Training Course under Valerie Adams. She danced with Scottish Ballet, Northern Ballet and Alexander Roy’s London Ballet Theatre before moving into West End musicals where she danced in On Your Toes, 42nd Street and The Phantom of the Opera.
Tania was a member the classical ballet faculty a the Royal Ballet School for many years where she also taught the character dance course. She has choreographed regularly for the school for their End of Year performances at the Royal Opera House. She was actively involved in rehearsing students for productions for the Royal Ballet.
She has taught for many years for the Royal Ballet School’s Associate Programme, Intensives Courses and continues as a Tutor for Teacher Training.
Tania gained a BPhil (Hons) in Dance and Contextual Studies at Durham University through the Royal Academy of Dance in 2002.
She choreographed the character dances for Christopher Gable’s production of Swan Lake for Northern Ballet Theatre in 1994. She taught the Coaching Classes and Character Course for the Central School of Ballet’s Senior School where she was also Head of the Junior School.
As a freelance teacher she has taught extensively at the Arts Educational School, Chiswick, BBO Concourses, Cecchetti Society and the Royal Academy of Dance.
Tania teaches internationally in Japan, the Hungarian Dance Academy, Budapest and now regularly teaches on courses all over Italy. She has recently been teaching company class for Yorke Dance Project.
